Resetting Devices to Factory Defaults

There are three ways to reset a DisplayNet device to its factory default settings:

• Hold the factory default reset button located on the front panel of the device for 5 seconds.
• Use the factory defaults button in the device settings rollup
• Use the API command "factory {device_name}" as explained in the DisplayNet API documentation.

These commands reset all the settings to their default values except for the device description and custom device icon, stored EDID value, and the Locate Mode which are not stored on the device.

 

On DN-300 Series devices, hostname is not reset to the default value.

 

If the target device(s) was associated with the API server by use of auth or claim requests, it is released.
