DN-300 Series Advanced Features

Key enhancements introduced in the DN-300 series compared to the DN-200 series.

H.26X Video Streaming​

The DN-300 series includes integrated H.264/H.265 encoder that enables secondary video streams.

Primary Stream​

  • Resolution: Up to 1080/30p, supports 4K/60p downscaling
  • Bitrate: Adjustable from 1–20 Mbps
  • Encoding: H.264/H.265 in Transmitter or Transceiver Mode

Secondary Stream​

  • Resolution: Up to 540/30p, supports 4K/60p downscaling
  • Bitrate: Adjustable from 128–2048 kbps
  • Encoding: H.264/H.265 in Transmitter or Transceiver Mode

Thumbnails​

  • Format: PNG thumbnails with 180 lines of vertical resolution
  • Frame Rate: 1 frame per second
  • Requirement: Used in conjunction with DisplayNet Server® (DNS-20)

USB HID Instant Switching (DN-300H)​

The DN-300H provides USB HID device extension and routing with instant switching capabilities.

Technical Specifications​

  • Device Support: USB HID devices only
  • Switching: Instant switching between host and remote
  • Connections: 1x USB Type-B host, 2x USB Type-A devices
  • Advanced Software Features: Platform designed to support future advanced software features not possible with USB 2.0 extension

Key Differences from DN-300T USB 2.0​

The DN-300H's HID-specific implementation provides instant device switching, whereas the DN-300T's full USB 2.0 extension (480 Mbps) does not offer this instant switching capability. The HID platform also enables implementation of advanced software features in the future that are not possible with the standard USB 2.0 extension platform.

Mode Switching​

Dynamic operating mode switching differentiates DN-300 from fixed-function DN-200 devices.

DN-300H Modes​

  • TX Mode: Transmitter operation (single direction)
  • RX Mode: Receiver operation (single direction)
  • Switching: Front panel Mode Switch button or API command

DN-300T Modes​

  • TX Mode: Transmitter operation only
  • RX Mode: Receiver operation only
  • TRX Mode: Bi-directional simultaneous TX and RX operation
  • Switching: Front panel Mode Switch button or API command
