DisplayNet Manager
DisplayNet Manager is the web-based control interface for managing your DisplayNet system. It serves as the central management platform for system configuration, device control, and integration with third-party control systems.
Overview
DisplayNet Manager and DisplayNet Server are designed to make the AV system integration and maintenance process easier from start to finish. The software can be used on a day-to-day basis for system control, but it primarily offers designers, programmers, and other technical personnel the tools they need to efficiently assimilate DisplayNet into their existing workflows. DisplayNet Manager is designed for integrators and administrators who need full access to configuration and management features. For end users who need simplified daily operational controls, use DisplayNet Controller instead.
Key Integration Benefits
- Intuitive Browser-Based Interface - Rapidly become familiar with DisplayNet system functionality through an intuitive web interface
- Automatic Device Detection - Software automatically detects DisplayNet devices as they connect to the network, requiring no manual configuration
- Comprehensive Device Information - Real-time reporting of device status and configuration details for effective system management
- Third-Party Integration - The Console Tab allows developers to view API commands generated during operation, enabling easy integration with existing control systems
- Advanced EDID Management - Critical system setup tools for managing display compatibility
- Configuration Management - Save and restore system presets with script generation for rapid deployment
- System Monitoring - Comprehensive device lists and logging capabilities for troubleshooting and maintenance
System Architecture
DisplayNet systems consist of multiple transmitter and receiver endpoints, a 10GbE network switch and a DisplayNet Server, which provides the control proxy required to control and manage the entire system. DisplayNet Server software and other control devices do not communicate directly with the endpoints. Instead, they interface with the DisplayNet Application Programming Interface (API).
Regardless of the control method used, all communications from the control devices to the DisplayNet devices are distributed through the DisplayNet API. The API Engine receives Telnet commands from the control devices over port 6980, which are then interpreted by the API Engine and distributed to DisplayNet devices via UDP over the 10GbE network.

While DisplayNet Manager provides a graphically intuitive method of controlling DisplayNet systems, it is possible to use the DisplayNet API Command Set to interface directly with third party controllers. DisplayNet API commands may be loaded into a third party controller device and issued via Telnet to the DisplayNet API, which then distributes the commands to the overall DisplayNet system and endpoints. This approach allows DisplayNet systems to be easily integrated into existing control systems and workflows. See the DisplayNet API Manual for more details.
Access Methods
DisplayNet Manager can be accessed in two ways:
Interface Selection Screen
Navigate to your DisplayNet Server and select DisplayNet Manager from the splash screen:
- Using hostname:
http://displaynetorhttp://displaynet.local - Using IP address:
http://[Server_IP_Address]
Direct URL Access
You can also navigate directly to DisplayNet Manager by appending /manager to the server URL:
- Using hostname:
http://displaynet.local/manager - Using IP address:
http://[Server_IP_Address]/manager
Access Requirements
DisplayNet Manager can be accessed using a PC, Mac, or tablet with a network connection to the server. For optimal performance:
- Browser: Google Chrome is currently the only tested and supported browser
- Resolution: Minimum 1280x800 screen resolution required
- Network: Connection to DisplayNet Server required
Only a single DisplayNet Server should be actively used in a system at a given time. Please contact DVIGear technical support for full details.
