Bandwidth Management

DisplayNet’s multiview functionality is depending on the receiving device joining the multicast group for each stream in the multiview. If the total bandwidth of all streams exceeds 10Gb, oversubscription will occur, and the receiver will stop displaying all video. To prevent this from happening, careful planning is necessary when designing multiview layouts and configurations. Additionally, the Frame Rate Converter may be enabled, this feature halves the frame rate of the source video, and greatly assists in reducing the bandwidth consumed by an individual stream.

DisplayNet transmitters and receivers are capable of supporting multiviews of up to 32 streams per receiver, bandwidth permitting. This is accomplished using the scaled HDMI stream (Stream 1) available in the DisplayNet transmitter devices, in conjunction with the scaler integrated into DisplayNet receiver devices.

Efficient bandwidth management within an SDVoE multiview system involves a combination of standardizing frame rates, optimizing encoding settings, prioritizing traffic, dynamically adapting to network conditions, and ensuring the underlying network infrastructure can support the required data rates. These measures collectively contribute to delivering a seamless, high-quality viewing experience across multiple simultaneous video sources in a multiview display setup.
