DisplayNet Manager
DisplayNet Manager serves as the web client interface for DisplayNet. It has been crafted to offer a user-friendly and intuitive experience.
User Interface Accessed via Web Browser
DisplayNet Manager is built to support the Google Chrome web browser. At this time, it is not recommended to use other browsers as this may create issues. It is expected that support for other browsers will be introduced in future versions of the software.
Minimum Resolution
The software supports a minimum resolution of 1280x800. Using the software at lower resolutions is not recommended as it can cause problems with the user interface.
Slow Response Time
Using web-based software for long periods of time without refreshing, as well as sending or receiving a large number of commands can cause software performance to slow down. If the software is slow to respond, try refreshing the web browser. (Command + R on Mac, Ctrl + R on Windows and Linux) It may be necessary to close the browser and begin a new session entirely.
This is a known issue, and it is expected that this will be corrected in future software revisions.
Rapid Blinking Device LEDs
If the LEDs on a device are all blinking rapidly, then the Locate Mode is active for this device. To turn this mode OFF, navigate to the Device Settings window for this device and toggle the "Locate Mode" toggle into the "Off" position (greyed).
Main Tabs
Routing Tab
When DisplayNet Manager loads, or when the browser is refreshed, the software will load the default Routing Tab/Video Layer view.
If AV routing changes are not working, ensure that the software is in Edit Mode. View Mode is only used for viewing device and system information, whereas Edit Mode allows for changes to be made to routing configurations. In AutoTake Mode, any switches will be performed immediately when a transmitter and a receiver are selected. Consequently, only one switch can be performed per take. To deactivate this mode, click on the AutoTake button. This will return the software to Take Mode, in which it is possible to switch one transmitter to multiple receivers in a single take.
Disconnected Devices
In the event the network loses connection to a DisplayNet device, then the Device Row will change to be dark-gray and labeled "Disconnected." Disconnected devices cannot be used for switching. Finally, if any of the signals (Video, Analog Audio, Downmixed Audio, RS-232, IR, GbE) on a certain TX or RX are not working, please check whether the signals have been stopped, left, disconnected, or disabled.
Wall Setup Tab
In the Wall Setup Tab, if the video signals that are part of a wall do not seem to align properly with one another, please ensure that the proper bezel compensation values are used.
Console Tab
If the Activity Log is not providing any responses to commands, please ensure that the "Show Output" box at the upper right is checked. If the desired readout text cannot be located in the Activity Log, try scrolling up or down within the panel. If it still cannot be located, it is possible that it has been dropped from memory since the log only supports a limited amount of readout text. Additionally, the log will only show the commands issued during the current session of the software. When the browser refreshes, the Activity Log also resets. An alternative to using the Activity Log is to use the Logging feature which can be used to search for specific commands and responses.
Settings Tab
- Routing sidebar tab - When making changes in the Default Display Mode Type panel, please note three things. First, this default setting may be overruled by Display Mode settings on each destination (RX) device. Second, changes to this setting only affect future switching events. Third, when any receiver is part of an active wall, it will be forced to operate in Wall Fast Switched Mode. When that receiver is switched back to matrix switching operation, then it will return to its normal Display Mode setting.
- Overlay sidebar tab - Overlays are used to display information on top of the video signal on devices that support this feature.
Tools Tab
-
Presets sidebar tab - In the event that restoring a snapshot preset returns errors, ensure that all devices that were saved as part of the selected preset are connected and recognized by the software. Otherwise, routing issues are likely to occur. If the video appears suboptimal after loading a preset, ensure that the source resolution currently being used is the same as the resolution that was used in the preset commands.
-
EDID Library sidebar tab - In the event that the desired EDID is not shown in the library panel, use the scroll bar to navigate through the list and locate the file. When importing an EDID, please note that the software supports the following EDID file formats: .bin, .dat, .edid, or .hex. It is possible to import an EDID from either a transmitter or a receiver. However, it is only possible to upload an EDID to a transmitter. Additionally, when importing from a receiver, ensure that the RX is connected to a powered display. If the HDMI port is disconnected or if the display is not powered, then the RX will return an EDID with all zeros.
-
Device List - If a device or device attribute is not visible in the Device List, device attributes can be added or removed from the Device List by clicking on the "Column Options" button. This list can also be sorted by column by clicking the column header. The order of the items can also be changed by dragging and dropping the items in the Column Options dialog. The button to export the device list data produces a *.csv file, which can be opened in a spreadsheet editing document and saved in another file format, if desired.
Support Tab
The links in the Contact Information panel will only function if there is a working Internet connection. The version information in the About panel, along with exported logs to help diagnose problems, can be sent to DVIGear technical support in the event of a support request.
