HDCP Management

DisplayNet devices are fully HDCP compliant from end-to-end.

In the event that the video signal fails or "white snow" appears on the display, it could be that there is an issue with HDCP compliance with the source and/or display devices. If protected content is being generated from the source, be certain the display is properly HDCP compliant.

In some cases, certain computers will unnecessarily engage HDCP protocols to protect desktop content that does not require HDCP protection. Some computer monitors do not support HDCP; as desktop content does not typically require HDCP protection. In DisplayNet Manager, the Routing Tab, as well as the Device Settings rollup, shows whether the signals at the transmitter and the receiver are HDCP protected.

To resolve these cases, DisplayNet includes an Input HDCP Enable/Disable setting, which can be used to prevent the HDCP acknowledgment from being sent to the source device. When this is set to Off, the source devices will view the DisplayNet Transmitter as a non HDCP-compliant device and operate accordingly. Content that would not normally be copy-protected, such as a computer desktop, will be sent without HDCP encryption; however, as per the HDCP standard, protected content (e.g., from a Blu-ray player) will not be sent.
